Raurey Shaw is known for their life-sized sculptural “bodies” that operate through digital and mechanical loops. They have exhibited their sculptural and installation works in Louisville, KY (where they reside) and New Orleans, LA. Raurey has also organized artist workshops and collaborated with others to create artist-run art shows. In 2022, they participated in the ACCelerate Creativity + Innovation festival at the Smithsonian, assisting in the installation and operation of new media drone works by Samuel Swope. They have been recognized with the Nora Iasigi Bullitt Scholarship for their creative concepts in sculpture, as well as the Dario Covi Award for their ability to work across different media. Raurey recently obtained a BFA from the University of Louisville in 2023 and is currently working on developing 2D art while actively seeking studios, workshops, or residencies to pursue new sculptural projects. |
