Psychosoma is, in one sense, a visual representation of the whirlwind of physical sensations one may experience as a consequence of extremely stressful internal or external stimuli; the tightness in your chest, the icy cold rush of fear, jumping out of your own skin. This piece examines the way ones’ desires and emotions influence their drive and motivation, do they forge it into something of worth or do they crush it? Psychosoma hints at the death of naivety and playfulness that occur within each human lifetime as years pass on and harsh realities are uncovered. It also implies that these experiences give strength and value that are far greater than what may be directly observable from the cold, tired or jaded facade of a person. These inexorable experiences are essential to who we are and can not be removed from us.
